John Muir
“In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.”
Today is NATIONAL TRAILS DAY, a day to celebrate all trails on public land. John Muir, often called “the father of our national park system,” was an enthusiastic advocate for the creation of public parks. He fervently believed that, “Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul alike.”
So take a hike and bring a friend along, or join a local event and make a new friend. Find events through national organizations like the American Hiking Society.
